Yoga Pants and a Baby Owl

I've been on a real sewing kick lately.  I found this blog that shows you how to make comfy yoga pants out of an old tshirt. They were super easy to make!  Start with an old Tshirt

Make it into pants!

My photographer is 3

I also made a baby owl with a hidden pocket in the back.  He is a tooth fairy pillow.

But its a DRY heat.....

Here in Arizona it is HOT.  Not just mildly hot or even hot.  It is hotter than H-E-Double-Hockey-Sticks Hot!
People always say to me "but its a DRY heat!"  Dry heat my foot!  Would you want to live in an oven?
Its so hot here that you can bake cookies in your car!  So, to prove my point, I did it!

Here are the cookies waiting to be put into the "oven"
Don't they look good?  Don't you just want to pick one off the tray and eat it?
Ok so I put tinfoil on the cookie sheet and then put a towel under the cookie sheet just in case it got too hot I didn't want it to damage my dashboard.
And in they go.  I couldn't get a good shot that read the thermometer, but it didn't matter anyways because after this shot it overheated and stopped showing me the temp.  At this point it was 117 outside and 148.5 in the car.  I'm sure it got even hotter in there.
Half an hour later

Another half hour

And later

Finally!!!  It took about 2.5 hours, they were a little chewy in the middle but thats just how I like them
Yum!!!!
So maybe there IS one positive thing about living in AZ after all.  I could make cookies while running errands and not get hungry.....

Owls!!

Ok, so I have a mild obsession with owls.  I have liked them waaay before they became the new fad.  I remember having owls in one of my kitchens many years ago.  Anywho, (haha) I have been dying to try my hand at making some owl pillows/stuffies.
Please don't laugh at my first attempt!

I used my Give A Hoot cart to cut out the body and the flower eye pieces.  However after the 1st pillow I greatly modified the owl body.  The rest of the pieces were hand cut by me.  Except the circles of course.

My daughter loved the 1st one and promptly named it "Angela".
Here is the 2nd owl I did.  I think the body is improved although I think I might like the white trim around the eyes better.
And here is a side by side comparasion
Here I added the wings and changed the feet.  I also moved the legs apart on the 1st owl, I think he looks a little bit better.
I'm excited to try a few more of these, next up a boy owl!

I made this as part of a challenge for an online crop I was involved in this weekend.  The challenge was to use a non-square page, and I won!  Yay!  I'm very happy with how it turned out.

Hoppy Anniversary

I made this card for my brother and his wife, its their 1st anniversary.  My brothers name is Jeremiah, hence the frogs.  His wife Kari, loves the color purple, so her froggie has a purple tummy.
I used the Paisley cartridge for the frogs and the card from "Just Because" Cards.  The paper for the main body and accent of the card is from DCWV Citrus line.
