Life got in the way.... then we moved, and then I had the cutest new project ...</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Oliver George.... Oliver because we liked it and George after my grandpa who passed away 2 years ago.</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjAihDB24e_yK4f-De7p7-E6wFElw4YpMfe7ZMacqWJmnja8b8kCWMNwZD05cSf88cPhP7F0VM0e-DWZecLp76u4ppKmeIbqv7AMrt4M7IUSVTTYRfsc0NyPxAODq-8Mz5LFax2-hLitvRE/s1600/og.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><img border="0" height="214" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjAihDB24e_yK4f-De7p7-E6wFElw4YpMfe7ZMacqWJmnja8b8kCWMNwZD05cSf88cPhP7F0VM0e-DWZecLp76u4ppKmeIbqv7AMrt4M7IUSVTTYRfsc0NyPxAODq-8Mz5LFax2-hLitvRE/s320/og.jpg" width="320" /></span></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br />
</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Anyway, I have had a little time to do some crafting. I made an art hanger for Emma, I got the idea from something I saw at target, and figured I could make one for less. </span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEigT07K6QGy79lJkIPJVpVERqyiqPNhQI9a3IcgmbEWP2kELMz8k2s2faUAMMGc-iyCPIS9orMCiIpsE3WQ_8dINRH6Pa9jULpl3Hte_YvGSOjX4L4-6pQ2vplQbSVBvA7XueHyW7ROuWn1/s1600/Emmasarthanger.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="185" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEigT07K6QGy79lJkIPJVpVERqyiqPNhQI9a3IcgmbEWP2kELMz8k2s2faUAMMGc-iyCPIS9orMCiIpsE3WQ_8dINRH6Pa9jULpl3Hte_YvGSOjX4L4-6pQ2vplQbSVBvA7XueHyW7ROuWn1/s320/Emmasarthanger.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br />
</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_1nytz-bzCPmcYWJ37eD34KS6caazf4VxcxVXj0fZ5oYb2-autSAENptIT6p4G86Fwb5-Ved_HLpgZFvNeAcD-ccpU1EAZXmhm-Z6NtKKF-7BweoSkN4pe__UMDI4RKhKVsw3tfqy2Wz3/s1600/P1140312.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"></span></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br />
</span></div><div style="text-align: left;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">This project was super easy. I already had the letters for her name, but you could buy vinyl ones or purchase and paint letters from the craft store. Then I purchased the picket fences pre done at Michaels. I went to Home Depot and had the wood cut to size for me. Then my dear friend over at <a href="http://justthreemoredays.blogspot.com/">http://justthreemoredays.blogspot.com/</a>cut out the bird house and birdie shapes for me. I let Emma paint the birdies and glued clothes pins on the back of them. Simple and cute!</span></div><div style="text-align: left;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br />
</span></div><div style="text-align: left;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">When I was pregnant with Everett I made him and Emma the blue towel hangers. I needed to make one for Oliver too, and since we rent I needed a way to hang them all, that wouldn't leave dozens of holes in the land lords walls. I think it turned out pretty cute!</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhD0AGzsjdduSwjuyHI9fOT2KMKpiYeUNuQy_zFPd2JxRP_duDUq5OeckiJs-kr5k_O_g1uwPBOQ4vSwM-05IEdFBeq_9ZZVDUb1-tXwmZtDFBLgoEz2dv2yPDxs2m8vALmzO0tBS7jXVas/s1600/P1140348.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhD0AGzsjdduSwjuyHI9fOT2KMKpiYeUNuQy_zFPd2JxRP_duDUq5OeckiJs-kr5k_O_g1uwPBOQ4vSwM-05IEdFBeq_9ZZVDUb1-tXwmZtDFBLgoEz2dv2yPDxs2m8vALmzO0tBS7jXVas/s320/P1140348.JPG" width="320" /></span></a></div><div style="text-align: left;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br />

Welcome to my blog on this blog hop!<br />
Sorry I'm not more detailed for you, I'm fighting off a nasty cold.<br />
Here goes!<br />
DD helped me make some of these for family. I would have liked to do more to them but a 3 year old has a short attention span!<br />
I used the Create A Critter cart and my gypsy to weld 2 acorns together. Then I sent the top of my acorn through the swiss dots to give it the extra effect<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZpRnAEMRH6kZ-oC3pbWT3Di0kVzzOLHhpG8u_bdccrqGIABpEkLvt-_ImjtFBvhl29Gc3e7NbneKUDBAVLPfn2_wsA-CRLrep7yEJQxoGPiaFXgZHTOJU0rSbKxIYMrs6i_DK7jMrep0b/s1600/P1130127.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZpRnAEMRH6kZ-oC3pbWT3Di0kVzzOLHhpG8u_bdccrqGIABpEkLvt-_ImjtFBvhl29Gc3e7NbneKUDBAVLPfn2_wsA-CRLrep7yEJQxoGPiaFXgZHTOJU0rSbKxIYMrs6i_DK7jMrep0b/s320/P1130127.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><br />

<br />
These 3 are the ones that were commissioned<br />
<img alt="[image] " border="0" height="400" src="http://i898.photobucket.com/albums/ac184/withjoy/Sewing/P1130109.jpg" title="[image] " width="300" /><br />

<br />
this is the one that is similiar to Everetts<br />
<img alt="[image] " border="0" height="400" src="http://i898.photobucket.com/albums/ac184/withjoy/Sewing/P1130104.jpg" title="[image] " width="300" /><br />
I made it so the tummy will get a "raggy" effect around the edges<br />
<br />
red owl<br />
Ok so this one turned out totally different than what was in my head, and it is full of mistakes, I'm not even sure if I should sell it. You can't see in the pictures the flaws. The bonding on the tummy wrinkled, the spot I sewed it shut stretched and more. And she was supposed to look sweet, not sad.<br />
<img alt="[image] " border="0" height="400" src="http://i898.photobucket.com/albums/ac184/withjoy/Sewing/P1130106.jpg" title="[image] " width="300" /><br />
So I need a good story behind her for my etsy shop, maybe unrequited love? Oh and she also has a heart on her bum<br />
<img alt="[image] " border="0" height="400" src="http://i898.photobucket.com/albums/ac184/withjoy/Sewing/P1130108.jpg" title="[image] " width="300" /></span></div>Angela Joyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06451304270747238403noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6953785920187814547.post-46610127098213523422011-02-04T18:21:00.000-08:002011-02-14T05:52:40.439-08:00oopsAngela Joyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06451304270747238403noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6953785920187814547.post-53009503739444373992011-01-02T19:32:00.000-08:002011-01-02T19:34:13.460-08:00More Owls!I have made a slew of owls over the past few months and here they are. I've definitely gotten better, but could still use some improvement. My 3 year old helped me name some of them<br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;"><img alt="[image] " border="0" src="http://i898.photobucket.com/albums/ac184/withjoy/Sewing/P1120360.jpg" title="[image] " /><br />
Carly</span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;"></span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;"></span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;"></span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;"></span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;"></span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;"></span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;"></span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;"></span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;"></span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;"><img alt="[image] " border="0" src="http://i898.photobucket.com/albums/ac184/withjoy/Sewing/P1120359.jpg" title="[image] " /></span><span style="font-size: x-small;">And last but not least....and certainly the funniest name...<br />
Caca<br />
<img alt="[image] " border="0" src="http://i898.photobucket.com/albums/ac184/withjoy/Sewing/P1120362.jpg" title="[image] " /><br />
<br />
This is the one for I made for my husbands boss' daughter who was born in November</span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;"></span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;"><img alt="[image] " border="0" src="http://i898.photobucket.com/albums/ac184/withjoy/Sewing/P1120357.jpg" title="[image] " />'</span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;"> The owl I made my son for Christmas</span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;"><br />
</span><br />
<a href="http://s898.photobucket.com/albums/ac184/withjoy/Sewing/?action=view&current=owl.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" height="400" src="http://i898.photobucket.com/albums/ac184/withjoy/Sewing/owl.jpg" width="298" /></a><br />
<br />
I also made him a pair of pj pants from his daddys old pair that became irreparable.<br />
Here are the original pants with Everetts next to them to show the size difference :D<br />
<br />
<a href="http://s898.photobucket.com/albums/ac184/withjoy/Sewing/?action=view&current=P1110983.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="pants" border="0" height="400" src="http://i898.photobucket.com/albums/ac184/withjoy/Sewing/P1110983.jpg" width="236" /></a><br />
The finished product with a close up of the logo. I cut the logo out of the big pants and made it like a patch onto the little pants, the edges will fray the more the pants get washed<br />
<a href="http://s898.photobucket.com/albums/ac184/withjoy/Sewing/?action=view&current=P1110986.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="pants" border="0" height="400" src="http://i898.photobucket.com/albums/ac184/withjoy/Sewing/P1110986.jpg" width="305" /></a><br />

I found <a href="http://www.blackfawnart.com/2010/01/recon-tutorial-t-shirt-to-yogalounge-pants.html">this </a>blog that shows you how to make comfy yoga pants out of an old tshirt. They were super easy to make! Start with an old Tshirt<br />
<br />

Not just mildly hot or even hot. It is hotter than H-E-Double-Hockey-Sticks Hot!<br />
People always say to me "but its a DRY heat!" Dry heat my foot! Would you want to live in an oven?<br />
Its so hot here that you can bake cookies in your car! So, to prove my point, I did it!</div><div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;"><br />
</div><div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">Here are the cookies waiting to be put into the "oven"</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUOGBvITpciL0ftZiKa7Beh0n6J_Mu_UQfFBkdAY7U7nkyC5ZRJ07U0ywSWJmaLOjlEveVZdYticPd15pUtIs9l9nm-jSIydn6SRLBTOirm95xt32AI6erXJS3v62c20sfsg99crpvLGoB/s1600/P1100988.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUOGBvITpciL0ftZiKa7Beh0n6J_Mu_UQfFBkdAY7U7nkyC5ZRJ07U0ywSWJmaLOjlEveVZdYticPd15pUtIs9l9nm-jSIydn6SRLBTOirm95xt32AI6erXJS3v62c20sfsg99crpvLGoB/s320/P1100988.JPG" /></a></div><div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;"> </div><div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">Don't they look good? Don't you just want to pick one off the tray and eat it?<br />
Ok so I put tinfoil on the cookie sheet and then put a towel under the cookie sheet just in case it got too hot I didn't want it to damage my dashboard.</div><div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">And in they go. I couldn't get a good shot that read the thermometer, but it didn't matter anyways because after this shot it overheated and stopped showing me the temp. At this point it was 117 outside and 148.5 in the car. I'm sure it got even hotter in there. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg94UVuSOjuuAZ0L55-jgTai-7e5AamXeq8GV_pa05CGV0iB9m2xjOb6kcADp-3RacyH9GzDN50Zco81re3QbwTAk-b3zUIq-_XudNfkrfXkTkXGk_B7f21zbg7DAeXxhO3KwK0RC9T_fjt/s1600/P1100991.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg94UVuSOjuuAZ0L55-jgTai-7e5AamXeq8GV_pa05CGV0iB9m2xjOb6kcADp-3RacyH9GzDN50Zco81re3QbwTAk-b3zUIq-_XudNfkrfXkTkXGk_B7f21zbg7DAeXxhO3KwK0RC9T_fjt/s320/P1100991.JPG" /></a></div><div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">Half an hour later</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgnJn5mZXCaJ3AthdkjfS8Spd-TDHI_xhJvyQGCNGz9aXVtzpZIBsn1-kfelNE-OZd-2Qw3TqCQmdpLcq7I_GMr8dKFsnWTKvp6paX-hx7R9ijTuMplTmmbUQkXIccaU2ZiV1bQXtTJemzT/s1600/P1100994.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><br />

I have liked them waaay before they became the new fad. I remember having owls in one of my kitchens many years ago. Anywho, (haha) I have been dying to try my hand at making some owl pillows/stuffies.<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">Please don't laugh at my first attempt! </div></div><div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiRetnnFnG4KCGoLlhpCteb9DP4M4rNfxmZ28F_K9319jb9rvePSKAO34To0XLl6LRVVG6h-u9AkAfjhYrMKmYqcWDvY1FzLykeAvzqcd0KPRiUSWYa40EGW41HEK2vvxeR1ZcPyVQ-Elkl/s1600/owl1+%281%29.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiRetnnFnG4KCGoLlhpCteb9DP4M4rNfxmZ28F_K9319jb9rvePSKAO34To0XLl6LRVVG6h-u9AkAfjhYrMKmYqcWDvY1FzLykeAvzqcd0KPRiUSWYa40EGW41HEK2vvxeR1ZcPyVQ-Elkl/s320/owl1+%281%29.JPG" /></a></div><div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">I used my Give A Hoot cart to cut out the body and the flower eye pieces. However after the 1st pillow I greatly modified the owl body. The rest of the pieces were hand cut by me. Except the circles of course. </div><div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;"><br />

I made this as part of a challenge for an online crop I was involved in this weekend. The challenge was to use a non-square page, and I won! Yay! My brothers name is Jeremiah, hence the frogs. His wife Kari, loves the color purple, so her froggie has a purple tummy.<br />
I used the Paisley cartridge for the frogs and the card from "Just Because" Cards. The paper for the main body and accent of the card is from DCWV Citrus line.<br />
